When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.
When your sister-in-law hands you a box full of apples….
make applesauce!
Homemade Applesauce
-
2 cups sliced apples
-
1/3 cup apple juice or apple cider
-
1 cinnamon stick
-
1/8 tsp. sea salt
Place apple slices, juice, cinnamon stick, and salt in a pot. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer, covered, until fruit is tender and the liquid has cooked off (about 15 minutes). Remove cinnamon stick and use a blender, immersion blender, or potato masher to puree into a smooth or chunky consistency.
To make in a pressure cooker, bring it up to pressure and cook for 5 minutes.
